It's that time of year for the school buses to start their routes and add to traffic

congestion - it's time to go back to school!

Dogs are wonderful pets and companions and may easily become part of the family for many years. Kids and adults alike enjoy a deep satisfaction caring for and spending time with dogs. However, in the United States, there are 4.7 million dog bites occur every year. More than half of those bites happen to kids under the age of 14. They range from an innocent little nip to injuries severe enough to require hospitalization and even surgery.

Summer is progressing and the hot weather brings summer fun to our agendas. Keeping kids safe during this season is important, especially around bodies of water large and small. Nearly 1000 kids die each year in the U.S. by drowning. It is the 2nd leading cause of accidental death for people between the ages of 5 and 24. Make sure you and your child know what precautions to take to be certain your family remains safe.
